Ruter Passes 2000 Points in Loss to Marantha

On Monday, the Eagles traveled once again, this time to face off against Maranatha
Baptist University. This would mark four games in five days for Emmaus.

The game would start out well as Skyler Sandry knocked down 2 shots from deep.
The Eagles would have the lead briefly but Marantha had much fresher legs and a
deeper bench. The transition points really cost Emmaus in the first half and would
lead to a big deficit at halftime.

The coaches encouraged the guys to not focus on the first half but to win the second.
Nathaniel Glidewell provided basket after basket as Emmaus would play even with
Maranatha for much of the half. Ultimately, the long week before coupled with a
talented Maranatha team was too much to overcome.

After the game, coach Wilkerson had this to say: "This was a trap game as our guys
would have had to play perfect basketball and have every 50-50 ball bounce our
way, in order for us to win. I was proud of the second half effort and the
performances by several of the players. Hopefully having a couple of days off will get us
back on track."

The biggest bright spot from the night was Caleb Ruter moving above 2000 points
for his career finishing with 19 points to put him at 2,013 points with one regular
season game and the national tournament still yet to play.

Their last regular season game will be Friday at Lincoln Christian University at 7 PM.
