Emmaus Wins Fourth Game in a Row

The Emmaus Men came into the MCCC Tournament fresh off a buzzer beater against Central Bible and hoping to advance deep into the tourney.  First up for the Eagles was the same Central Bible team and another close game was in store for the players and fans.

The first half saw a balanced Eagles attack as nobody reached double figures scoring with the Eagles holding a 30-29 lead going into the break.  The two teams battled closely as the biggest lead the Eagles could manage was 7 points while the biggest lead for the Saints was 2 points.  Matthew Tomlinson hit two deep threes to help the Eagles with their narrow point advantage.

In the second half, Emmaus built upon its halftime lead and looked to put the game away with a 14 point advantage at the 6:51 mark.  However, the Saints fought back and closed the gap but time ran out and the Eagles had escaped the Saints for the second week in a row with a 66-62 victory.

Steven Horan led the Eagles with 18 points while Tomlinson finished the day with 14 points, including two more three point baskets in the second half.  Nathaniel Glidewell also finished in double figures with 12 points and Elijah Reeves contributed 9 rebounds.

Next up for the Eagles would be Manhattan Christian.
