Eureka! Emmaus Finds Victory!

Following the Conference Tournament, the Eagles did not take a break as the traveled to Eureka College for a game that had been rescheduled earlier in the semester. The teams had only clashed once before back in 2015, where the Red Devils walked away with a 100-75 point victory.

Before the game, Coach Edmondson challenged his team: "Play free, but not careless. Make sure that when we leave the floor, we've given it all we had". The Eagles came out full force all around with great shooting performances and defense that perplexed the opponents and allowed very few fastbreaks or uncontested shots.

The entire game was a back and forth battle as the teams saw 9 ties and 11 lead changes. The largest lead on either side was 7 points which led to an exciting game from start to finish. Emmaus was able to gain their final advantage with just under five minutes left and they kept it for the remainder of the contest. The final score saw Emmaus even out the all-time series 1-1 as they took the 77-72 win away from the NCAA D3 Red Devils.

Austin Brammer led all scorers with 26 points followed by Nacio Dillard with 18. Elijah Reeves chipped in 11 rebounds, and the team as a whole shot an outstanding 54% from the field and 57% for 3's.

The Eagles followed their gameplan exactly and Coach Edmondson said: "They (Emmaus) went out and and walked out with one of the biggest wins in Emmaus basketball history! I love the way this bunch has persevered through adversity. Austin Brammer had a great night after struggling in our last game. I am so proud of the way he bounced back. Nacio Dillard played another solid game at point and made clutch free throws to put the game away. Every member of the team contributed to the win with all 9 players that dressed scoring. Just a great night to be an Eagle!"

The men are now 4-23 heading into the Regional tournament where they look for a chance at Nationals.
