Emmaus Welcomes Isaiah Pace as Head Men's Basketball Coach
Emmaus Bible College and the Emmaus Bible College Athletic Department are pleased to announce the hiring of Isaiah Pace as Head Men's Basketball Coach. Pace comes to Emmaus after serving as assistant coach for the University of Valley Forge (NCAA III) in Phoenixville, PA during the 2018-19 season.
"I am excited to welcome Coach Pace and his wife, Miyah, to our athletic department and to the Emmaus family. I look forward to partnering with Coach Pace, as he imparts his love for the Lord, and brings his enthusiasm for developing young men to our basketball program," declared Emmaus Athletic Director, Chris McHugh.
Coach Pace brings a wealth of basketball knowledge to his new role at Emmaus. Previously he served as Director of Basketball Operations for the NBA Orlando Jr. Magic, and as a youth coach with the Orlando Magic and the National Basketball Academy. Additionally, Coach Pace was the head varsity boys basketball coach at Holy Redeemer Catholic School, where his team finished with a 19-0 record, winning the regional championship and the first Diocese Championship in school history.
"I'm excited to help grow the Emmaus basketball program and to create something special. We are going to focus on playing an aggressive style of defense, smart and efficient offense, learning successful basketball fundamentals, and getting easy baskets in transition offense. This will give us a chance to do great things."
"As the head men's basketball coach, it is my mission to reflect Christ to student-athletes and to disciple them, while creating a healthy and competitive environment for success," Pace said.
Outside of basketball, Pace has been involved in music ministries in the church, serving in various roles.
"I am grateful to my coaching mentors from my time around the NBA, National Basketball Academy, and my high school. I can't wait to get started on campus in a few weeks," said Pace.
Coach Pace anticipates arriving to Dubuque at the start of the Fall semester.
