Eagles Sign DeVries

Eagles Sign DeVries

The Eagles have signed another student athlete from Morning Star Christian Academy; Welcome Garrett DeVries!

DeVries joins his high school teammate Zach Scholl on the Eagles' roster this year as the second signee to have played under former Emmaus Basketball All-American Skyler Sandry.

Garrett played a huge part in leading his team to their best season in school history, ending with an 18-3 record and NICC Conference Championship title. He recorded 17 double-doubles and two triple-doubles over the course of the season while averaging 18 Points, 11 Rebounds, 5 Assists, 2 Steals, and 1 Block per game. DeVries received 1st Team All-Conference and NICC Conference MVP awards to wrap up his senior campaign.

"Garrett brings us much needed strength and power while also providing versatility." Commented Coach Graw. "He's able to handle the ball and make the correct pass in transition almost like a Draymond Green Point Forward, while also being able to bang in the post and shoot a high percentage from the 3-point line." He added, "He's strong in his faith and takes care of his business in the classroom but what I love most about him is that he loves to be coached. Garrett will do great things for us!"

"I chose Emmaus because I felt it was the best place for me." Said DeVries. "I like the way that Coach Graw is taking the program and I want to be a part of that."

Garrett plans to study Business Administration at Emmaus.
