Fairley Signs With Emmaus

Fairley Signs With Emmaus

We are pleased to announce our final signing for the 20-21 season which brings a familiar face - please join us in welcoming Nick Fairley!

Fairley has chosen to complete his academic and athletic career at Emmaus, where he previously was a member of both the soccer and basketball teams. When the Eagles took on NCAA D3 opponent Illinois Tech in 2017, Fairley contributed 10 points and 4 rebounds in 8 minutes of playing.

In High School, Nick scored 1,033 points in his 66 career games, and averaged a double-double his senior year with 19 points and 11 rebounds per game. In his 4 years at Tri-State Christian School, Fairley also earned Conference Honorable Mention, 2x 1st Team All-Conference, and Conference MVP honors.

Most recently Fairley competed on an intramural team at UNI, where he once again averaged a double-double with 25 points and 11 Rebounds per game, as well as finishing 3rd out of 32 teams for two consecutive years.

Nick stated: "I chose Emmaus because of the Christlike community. I know from experience that it isn't always perfect, but Emmaus provides a great platform for discipleship and growing in Christ if we have the desire. My first two years at Emmaus I didn't always prioritize growing in Christ and I want that to be different this time. I feel like God is calling me to be a leader and an example to the basketball team.Oh, And basketball's always fun."

"I feel very blessed to have Nick join our team this season as a senior." Commented Coach Graw, "It really is a big time addition for us considering we have 16 guys on the roster under the age of 19. Nick is bringing us a veteran mentality who is ultra competitive and naturally loves the game of basketball. He can shoot outside with the best of them and the addition of shooting is always a benefit for our program. Nick, most importantly, brings spiritual maturity as one of the few older guys in the faith on the team. The discipleship opportunity for him is tremendous and I am so thankful that he is really excited to embrace this role while competing at a high level."
