Why play Emmaus Soccer?

At Emmaus, it is our goal to first and foremost do all things to the glory of God. As a result, the men’s soccer team will also have this goal. But this goal does not exclude playing competitive soccer.  The Emmaus men’s soccer team strives for players who both seek to glorify God with their entire lives and who love playing high-quality, team-oriented soccer.

Why are you coaching at Emmaus?

I love God and His people. I love coaching the sport of soccer. What an opportunity it is to communicate about the game I love with God’s people!

I especially love that I get to coach at the college I attended and coach the same team I played for. It is an honor to work with Christian student-athletes by pointing them to Christ and mentoring/discipling them, all while getting to coach them to play the wonderful game of soccer!

What is a meaningful Bible verse to you?

2 Corinthians 5:21: “He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”

I can’t get over the amazing work of Christ on the cross, taking our sin in our place, so that we could have His righteousness.
