Lady Eagles Fight Exhaustion and Win Against Mount Mary

Coming off of two games in the last two days, the Lady Eagles faced the Mount Marry Blue Angels on Saturday, January 30. Despite being tired, the Lady Eagles came out strong and came out of the first quarter leading by 5 points. In the second quarter, the Lady Eagles continued to play well and Erin Edmondson scored 6 points coming off the bench, helping give the Eagles a spark.

The third quarter furthered the Eagles lead and helped the Eagles to slowly pull away from the Blue Angels. The Lady Eagles turned the ball over 19 times which allowed the Blue Angels to stay within striking distance. Despite the fatigue and exhaustion, the Lady Eagles proved strong winning 72 to 53 against the Blue Angels.
The Eagles shot over 43% from the field which helped the tired Eagles end their week with 4 wins in six days. The Lady Eagles were relentless on the boards posting 47 team rebounds. A very balanced Eagles attack saw contributions from Shelby Hembra (22 points and 15 rebounds), Madison Laib (18 points and 5 rebounds), and Rachel West (12 points and 7 rebounds) lead the Eagles to victory. This win extends the Lady Eagles winning streak to 8 games. The Lady Eagles are back in action next week on the road taking on Barclay College friday night, February 5 at 6pm.
