Lady Eagles Remain Undefeated in Conference

Emmaus traveled down to Kansas City and beyond over the weekend ready for a challenge and looking to stay undefeated in Conference play.

Friday matched the Lady Eagles against the Ambassadors of Ozark Christian College in a fast-paced game where our Ladies scored first and never looked back. Emmaus was able to get rythym in the offense and convert well, as almost every player put points up on the board and the team ended the game with 26 assists. Kia Gelinas led the scoring effort with 13 points, while four other girls hit double digits in a convincing 89-35 win over Ozark.

The next day, Emmaus knew they had to bring their A game as they challenged Calvary University, who also came into the weekend undefeated in the MCCC Conference. The Lady Eagles came out strong in the first quarter, putting up 30 points to the Warriors' 14, but a rough second quarter sent the teams into the halftime break with only an 8 point difference in favor of Emmaus. Once the Ladies settled in during the third quarter, they were able to fight through adversity and build a lead that resulted in a 103-73 victory over Calvary. Key stats for the game were Gelinas once again leading the way with 26 points, and Riley Harding providing an impressive 7 assists combined with no turnovers.

Following the weekend, Coach Graw said "It was a great weekend all around. I felt like we finally started clicking on all cylinders ... It was great to see it all come together, though I still believe we can play at an even higher level". Emmaus will look to do just that as Maranatha comes to Dubuque on Tuesday for a Regional matchup.

The Lady Eagles are now 6-12 for the season and 4-0 in Conference.
