Lady Eagles Notch Two More Wins

Lady Eagles Notch Two More Wins

The Lady Eagles traveled to Lincoln Christian last Friday for their first game in two weeks, their previous game being against Calvary on January 19th.

The main goal for Emmaus in the first half was to get back to where they were before the two week gap caused by cancellations and forfeits. The teams played tight in the first quarter, leavign Emmaus only down by two after the first ten minutes. A rough second quarter caused by mental lapses and fatigue dug a hole and left the Lady Eagles down by 12 going into the locker room with the score at 39-27 in favor of the Red Lions.
In the third and fourth quarters, Emmaus was able to find some rythym and momentum and outscored Lincoln 49-32, which was just enough to secure a 76-71 win.

Outstanding performances came from Tiffany Williams with 19 points (3/3 from behind the arc), Avery Kornstad and Nakiah Kimble with 13 points apiece, and Riley Harding, Kia Gelinas, and Kornstad all hitting key shots in the final minutes to secure the victory.

The next game brought Emmaus to Conference opponent, Faith for their second meeting of the season.
Having found their legs against Lincoln, the name of this game was finding offensive patience for the Lady Eagles. Emmaus was able to execute their game plan and work on weaknesses throughout the game and came away with a 66-38 win at the end of the day. With the win, Emmaus is undefeated in the MCCC Conference, and have clinched the Regular Season Conference Champions title.

Leaders for Tuesday's game were Kimble with 13 points, 4 steals and 2 blocks, Kornstad with 10 points, and Harding with 9 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists.

Of the games, Coach Graw said: "I couldn't be more proud of these young ladies. The amount of grit that was shown, specifically in the Lincoln game was astounding. Due to our tough schedule, we know we are battle tested, and I believe we are peaking at the right time. I believe our best play is ahead of us."

The Lady eagles are now 8-12 overall and 5-0 in conference.
