Emmaus Does Enough to Silence the Thunder.

The Midwest Christian College Conference Tournament began on Friday for the Lady Eagles with a matchup against Manhattan after receiving a first round bye. Manhattan came off of a win over Ozark the previous day to reach the semifinal game against Emmaus.

The Lady Eagles started off the game with high intensity on both offense and defense, putting them up 10-0 before the Thunder made it on the board. Emmaus ended the first quarter up 23-4 but Manhattan came out with a vengeance in the second and scored 21 points over the next ten minutes. Emmaus kept finding good offensive rythym and was able to go into halftime up 43-25.

The second half brought a strong showing from Emmaus as everyone saw the floor and the team was able to close the 78-49 victory over the Thunder. The Ladies recorded 18 assists on the night and had great performances all around. Kia Gelinas led the team with 22 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists, Nakiah Kimble chipped in 15 points, Tiffany Williams put up 14 points and 6 steals, and Riley Harding dished out 6 assists without a single turnover to spoil her night.

Coach Graw Commented after the game: "It was a big win for us tonight. I was extremely proud of how our ladies came to play. They brought the intensity needed in the first game of a tournament and showed a lot of heart throughout the game. I'm looking forward to the Championship game tomorrow!"

The win puts Emmaus at 9-13 overall and sends the Lady Eagles to the Conference Championship tomorrow afternoon where they will battle Calvary for the title.
