Dubuque, Iowa — The Emmaus Eagles tipped off December with a two-game home stand, showing determination and effort in matchups against Manhattan Christian and Barclay College.
December 6, 2024 – Emmaus 40, Manhattan 60
Emmaus opened the weekend against Manhattan Christian College, led by Erin McKenna's all-around performance of 11 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists. Rachel Barrett added 10 points and dominated the glass with 13 rebounds and 4 blocks. Nellie Hopkins chipped in 6 points, while Madeline Wiest tallied 5 points and 5 boards.
The Eagles matched Manhattan's early energy but couldn't overcome a tough second half. Despite the loss, Emmaus showed resilience on the boards and strong defensive efforts.
December 7, 2024 – Emmaus 41, Barclay 64
The Eagles returned to the court Saturday and battled Barclay College. Erin McKenna led the scoring with 13 points and added 6 rebounds and 6 steals, while Rachel Barrett continued her strong play with 11 points and 14 rebounds. Madeline Wiest added 8 points, including a pair of three-pointers.
Emmaus grabbed 40 total rebounds and tallied 11 steals as a team. Although the offense struggled to find rhythm, the Eagles fought hard until the final whistle.
