Lady Eagles End Regular Season with Victory in Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE, WI – Emmaus came home from their date with the Mount Mary Blue Angels with a 3-1 victory to close out regular season play.

Emmaus was dominant in set one, starting with a 12-0 run and hitting .222 to close out the set 25-10.  The Lady Eagles hit .079 in set two, but still were able to win 25-17.  Set three saw Emmaus making an uncharacteristic amount of errors as they ended with a -.083 percentage and took an 18-25 loss.  The Lady Eagles returned to form in set four as they hit .229 to close out the match with 25-18 victory.

"This was a gritty match against a very motivated opponent," commented Coach Pitman.  "We struggled in the third set, but there will always come a time when things just aren't clicking the way they should.  It was important to have all players get time on the floor in the match today as we prepare for the post season, and we simply ran into a few difficult rotations.  I was pleased with everyone's effort even though we didn't always execute as well as we would have liked.   In moments of adversity we always ask ourselves 'how will we respond to this situation?'  It was encouraging to see our team respond with mental toughness today."

Emmaus now turns their focus to postseason play.  The Lady Eagles host the Midwest Christian College Tournament next weekend.  Official seeding and schedule will be announced on Monday.
