Why play Emmaus Volleyball?

The Emmaus Women’s Volleyball team is all about bringing glory to God, first and foremost. Through our play on the court, our studies in class, our involvement in our local churches, etc - all of it is about growing in our faith and sharing that love for God and His Word to those around us. Something that is very central to the volleyball program at Emmaus is holistic and intentioal care for each athlete.  That means, as coaches, we want to see each athlete grow spiritually, physically, mentally, and relationally. Playing volleyball at Emmaus will be an investment that will undoubtedly impact your life and faith for the better for years to come. 

Why are you coaching at Emmaus?

Volleyball has been a passion of mine since I was little and as I have grown in my relationship with the Lord, discipleship has become another passion of mine. Coaching at Emmaus allows me to do both!

Walking alongside others and having conversations about life and God's Word and how the two coincide always fills me with joy, and now being abel to do this alongside the sport I have always loved - nothing beats it!

What is a meaningful Bible verse to you?

Ephesians 5:1-2: “Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God." 

These verses are a reminder to me everyday to walk in love by imitating God in showing His love, forgiveness, kindness, truthfulness, selflessness, etc., to everyone I come in contact with. It's a pretty high calling (and not one that I'm always great at living out), but God has so graciously granted each of His beloved children the gift of the Holy Spirit who guides us day-in and day-out on how to imitate and represent Christ to a world that desperately needs Him.
