Faith Defeats Emmaus in First Conference Game

Faith Defeats Emmaus in First Conference Game

The Faith Baptist Eagles use a 13-0 second half run to pull away from the Emmaus men 88-79 at the Pollard Fieldhouse on the Emmaus campus.

The Emmaus men welcomed back Nathaniel Glidewell back from shin splint issues to the lineup  for the first conference game of the season.  Glidewell jumped out of the gates well for the Eagles in the first stanza by contributing 10 points, 3 assists, and 3 rebounds.  Steven Horan also played well in the first half by scoring 12 points to go along with 3 assists and 2 steals and Elijah Reeves continued his outstanding hustle to tally 10 points and 6 rebounds.

Despite these fine numbers, Emmaus couldn't stop senior Jon Luke Talton for Faith.  Talton's quickness and ability to hit from long range enabled the guard to score 19 first half points as Faith went into the locker room with a 43-35 advantage.

Coming into the second half, Emmaus fought back and got the lead, but just couldn't hold on.  A 13-0 run by Faith, which included three point baskets by Ryan Kupferschmid, was too much for the Eagles to overcome and Faith secured the victory.

Horan led the Eagles attack with 24 points.  Glidewell finished his first game back in awhile with a complete game offensively with 16 points, 7 assists, and 5 rebounds.  Reeves ended the game with a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds.

The Eagles are back in action Friday night (12-2) at 8:00 as they battle Providence University College from Canada and then Saturday afternoon (12-3) at 4:00 when they take on Kansas Christian.  Please come out and support the Eagles.
