Emmaus Gets Win Against St. Louis

After its last game that ended in defeat against Dayspring, Emmaus looked to rebound at home against visiting St. Louis.  In the end, the Eagles posted their seventh win of the season, 101-82.

The first half saw the Eagles shoot some of their best of the season as shots were dropping from everywhere.  Emmaus shot the ball 36 times and made 22 of them, which means they were shooting at 61%.  The Eagles good shooting included shots from behind the arc as well as 50% of them found the bottom of the net.  Steven Horan was especially hot as he scored 18 first half points to lead the Eagles while Brett Converset made a big contribution with 9 points off the bench.  At the break, the Eagles led by 20, 55-35.

The second half saw the Eagles shooting percentage cool off and St. Louis make a serious run to cut into the lead.  What was once around a 24 point lead, had shrunk to 8 points.  Thankfully, the Eagles hit enough shots to hold off St. Louis and pull out a 101-82 victory.

When the total stats were tabulated, five Emmaus players scored in double figures and two players had double-doubles.  Horan filled up the stat sheet with 30 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists, and 4 steals.  Elijah Reeves had the other double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds.  Converset had his best shooting game of the season as he finished with 20 points, including going 6-11 from three point range.  Nathaniel Glidewell added 15 points while Matthew Tomlinson chipped in 10 points.
