Emmaus fall to Judson University

The Eagles traveled to Elgin, Illinois Tuesday evening for a match up with NAIA Judson University.  Unfortunately for Emmaus the team got off to a slow start and while Judson had a hot shooting night.  The Eagles trailed at the half 50-23 and things did not improve in the second half as Judson went on to a 107-42 victory.  Emmaus had a rough night shooting the ball, hitting only 5-28 three point attempts for 17.9% and hitting only 18-67 overall for 26.9% while Judson went 13-20 from three point land (65%) and 44-74 overall for 59.5%.  

A bright spot for the Eagles was the post play of freshman Caleb Williams who scored 10 points on 5-9 shooting. The Eagles were led in scoring by senior Matt Tomlinson who was the only Emmaus player other than Williams to shoot 50% or make it into double figures in scoring.  Tomlinson was 3 of 6 from behind the arc and 4 of 8 from the field overall.  

Emmaus coach Steve Edmondson said after the game, "The score reflects the way each team shot the ball.  When one team shoots 60% and the other shoots 27% you are going to get a lopsided score like this.  They did a good job of defending us, but we also missed quite a few open shots.  On the other hand we could have defended better, but they shot the ball about as well as you can shoot it.  No excuses, they were just a lot better than we were tonight.  What you have to remember with games like this is that you are not as good as you best game and you are not as bad as your worst game.  Judson won't shoot it any better than they shot it tonight and we likely won't shoot it any worse than we did tonight."
