On Saturday, our Men traveled down to Moberly Missouri for a game against the Saints of CCCB in an MCCC Conference matchup.
The game started off a slowly for Emmaus, but they were able to jump back within striking distance due to several key shots coming from Austin Brammer and Nacio Dillard. A quick five points from Dillard with just over 3 minutes left in the first half gave the Eagles their first lead of the game at 38-35. They were able to keep the lead going into the half up 42-41 over the Saints.
The second half brought a similar feel with CCCB once again jumping ahead early on. Good scoring and energy all around from Stevie Horan, a strong offensive second half by Caleb Williams allowed Emmaus to chip away at their deficit, but it was not enough in the long run and CCCB came out ahead 97-75 at the end of the game. Saturday's leading scorere was Williams, with 18 points overall on 53% shooting from the field. Coach Edmondson's thoughts after the game were: "This game followed a familiar pattern for us in that we played well for a half, but were not able to sustain it. Coming out of the half, CCCB made a little run and we seemed rattled by it. We began to rush things and tried to create too much as individuals, rather than showing patience by moving the ball to get great shots".
The loss dropped the Eagles to 0-19 overall, and 0-4 in Conference.
