For the first round of Regionals, the Lady Eagles played Faith in their third matchup this season. Emmaus knew they had to come prepared and take care of business against a Faith team that always brings intensity and fight to their games.
The Ladies played a strong game, coming out straight from the beginning with great passing, offensive patience, and solid defense. They used their momentum to head into halftime up 50-22, and kept it going in the final 20 minutes. The reserves played heavy minutes in the second half and were able to maintain their energy and build the lead throughout the final minutes. The game ended with Emmaus up 89-43 over the Faith Eagles.
Avery Kornstad led the scoring barrage with 14 points, Tiffany Williams chipped in 12 points and 7 steals, Riley Harding and Nakiah Kimble also added 11 points apiece in the victory.
Coach Graw commented after the victory: "This was a good first round win, we showed up and took care of business. What I'm most proud of is how we played team basketball and moved the ball on offense. I'm excited for another opportunity to compete against Maranatha!"
The win puts the Ladies at 11-13 on the season and sends them into the semifinal game against Maranatha on Friday.
