Lady Eagles Fall to Blue Angels in Regular Season Final

The Lady Eagles had high hopes to win the final home match of the season, but the Blue Angels of Mt. Mary (Milwaukee, WI) were able to head home with a 3-2 victory.

The match was full of momentum swings, as each team played both hot and cold at times.  "We did not establish good tempo, and Mt. Mary was able to find runs at the right moments," commented Coach Pitman.

The Lady Eagles had an uncharacteristically error ridden match, giving up 12 aces, missing 10 serves and hitting an abysmal .021 percent.  "We are accountable to control the aspects of the game that are controllable," said Coach Pitman.  "Tonight we simply did not execute.  Our team has some great strength and some definite weaknesses, and we are successful when every player is able to generate their best performance.  Coach Ruter and I realize that this is a huge ask from us for this young team, and it is not always going to happen.  We are learning together what it takes to be competitive; we will never waver or give up spiritually, mentally, emotionally, or physically in pursuing excellence in all aspects of the game."

Emmaus now turns their sights to the ACCA National Tournament.  The team heads to Joplin, MO next Wednesday and will face some very tough competition.  Seeding and brackets will be announced on Monday.
