Emmaus Has Strong Finish to Home Quad

DUBUQUE, IA – Emmaus took on Clarke University (NAIA) in an exhibition rematch of last night's contest.  While the Lady Eagles lost 0-3, they played a much improved match and were able to generate some good runs.  "It is great for us to play these off-record matches, especially against a team like Clarke that really moves the ball around well on offense," commented Coach Pitman.

In the second match of the day, Emmaus took on the Eagles of Dayspring Bible College, who were relentless in their defensive play.  Emmaus was able to take the match in three sets, largely on passing and offensive firepower.  "Dayspring was fired up for this match, and endurance was definitely a factor for us as we played 4 matches in 24 hours with 8 players," said Coach Pitman.  "Hopefully we can get back to full strength this week."

Emmaus improves to 4-1 on the season with the win this afternoon.  The Lady Eagles will take on Loras College JV in an exhibition match at home this Tuesday (9/13), and then travel to Ankeny, IA to open MCCC play against Barclay College and Faith Baptist Bible college on Friday (9/16).
