Velderrain Commits to the Lady Eagles

Paulina Velderrain joins the 2018-2019 Lady Eagles Volleyball team!

TUCSON, AZ – The Emmaus volleyball team officially added Paulina Velderrain from Tucson, AZ to their roster today.

Paulina lettered with Following Wells High in Tucson where she was named Offensive Player of the Year as a senior, as well as being named third team All-Southern Arizona (5A). Velderrain also brings extensive club experience to Emmaus; the 5'9 outside hitter spent time with Desert Stars, Club Cactus, and Tucson Juniors. Most recently Paulina played for Duel Volleyball Club in Tucson.

Velderrain also medaled as a swimmer, and serves by leading worship at her church.

"Paulina is a hard hitter and I believe will use her experience to help our team this fall," commented Coach Pitman. "She is eager to study the Word and is motivated to reach her goals. I look forward to seeing the impact she can make on the court for us this year."

"I chose to come to Emmaus because it had the two things I wanted - the opportunity to better my relationship with God and focus on Him, and to continue my dream with the chance to play college volleyball," said Paulina. "I am looking forward to meeting new people that love to play volleyball and becoming part of the team. I believe the team is a family and should play as one, not as six."

Paulina is the daughter of Rosa Elena Velderrain, and plans to major in Biblical Studies and Pre-Professional Health Studies at Emmaus.
