Kia Gelinas, an Eagles captain in her third-year for the Emmaus women’s basketball program, is off to a fast start and just eclipsed 1,000 career points during the first half of the 2020-21 season.
 
On Thursday, November 12 vs. Oak Hills Christian College, Gelinas poured in 23 points on 10-19 from the field and 2-2 from the free throw line, propelling her to 1,007 career points.  
 
Through 5 games, Gelinas is averaging just shy of a double-double, leading the Eagles offense at 21.4 ppg, and controlling the boards with 9.8 reb/game. She is sharing the ball at a rate of 2.6 assists/game, and taking it away on the defensive end with 2.8 steals/game.  
Gelinas is fresh off of a sophomore year campaign, where she earned 3rd-team All-American status and 1st-team all-conference in the MCCC.  
 
Gelinas will look to lead the Lady Eagles to their third consecutive MCCC regular season and tournament titles in Spring 2021, along with a return trip to the NCCAA National Tournament.
