Why be an Emmaus Eagles athlete?

We are committed to excellence in the full sense of the word. Excellence is not glamorous and takes work. “Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.” 1 Corinthians 9:25 NIV. Paul uses this as a spiritual example to tell us that growth takes intent and commitment to it.

Why are you coaching at Emmaus?

I feel a great opportunity to use the talents and gifts I feel God has given me to use for his kingdom to help young men and women of Christ to develop healthy habits and movement patterns for them to make the most of the talents and gifts God has given them. . “No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it. Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees.” Hebrews 12:11-12 NIV

What is a meaningful Bible verse to you?

Romans 7:24-25 - “What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death? Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord!”

As someone who struggled mightily with a life of sin while claiming to follow Jesus these verses are incredibly important for me to remember we are saved by Jesus’s blood and his grace and not by our own works. Thanks be to God for Jesus!.
