Mackey Signs with Eagles

Eli Mackey of Morganfield, KY, has signed his letter of intent to continue his basketball career at Emmaus Bible College. Eli is a 2022 graduate of Union County High School and will soon graduate with his associate's degree from Southeastern Illinois College in Harrisburg, IL.

A two-year player for the SIC Falcons, Eli averaged 8.3 ppg and connected on 1.7 threes per game in his final year. As a team captain this past season, Eli helped his team achieve the most wins in over 10 years (17) and secure a 5 seed in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association Division I National tournament. Mackey was also awarded the honor of USCAA DI Student-Athlete of the Year.

"Eli is a great addition to our program. His maturity and character stood out to me from the first phone call, and he's going to make a major impact here. Being able to bring in a player like Eli who knows how to compete at a high level and knows what it takes to be successful from day one is going to help us continue to take steps in the right direction. We're excited to have Eli and his family joining us." said coach Parker.

Sam Swinford, Head Men's Basketball Coach at Southeastern Illinois said this: "Eli Mackey's impact on our program has extended far beyond the court in his two years. His dedication, leadership, and character have left an indelible mark on our team and we are confident that his impact will long be felt at Southeastern Illinois College. The success he has had here as a student and as a basketball player is a testament to his hard work and determination, and we are proud to have had him as a part of our program. We will miss his contagious energy, consistent servant leadership, and daily desire to improve, but we are so excited to see him continue to grow as a player and person at Emmaus."

Emmaus is a fully-accredited four-year college offering more than 30 professional and ministry-related academic programs. Emmaus athletic teams compete in the NCCAA Division II and the Midwest Christian College Conference.
