Emmaus Men's Basketball is excited to announce the signing of Ethan Cox, a standout point guard from Bryan, Texas, who has officially committed to join the program. Cox signed his letter of intent after an exceptional high school career with the Aggieland Homeschool Panthers.
"I'm really looking forward to welcoming Ethan to Emmaus and the program. He's a tremendous player that will bring scoring and playmaking abilities but he's also going to contribute to our culture of excellence for a higher purpose," said Coach Parker
Standing 6'1", Cox brings both leadership and skill to the court. Over his four-year varsity career, he amassed 2,444 points, 1,018 assists, 846 rebounds, and 340 steals across 203 games, maintaining a career average of 12.0 points, 5.0 assists, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.7 steals per game. During his senior year alone, he averaged 15 points, 5 assists, 6 rebounds, and 2 steals per game while shooting 46% from beyond the arc and 78% from the free-throw line.
Cox's basketball accolades include being a two-time NCHBC All-American (2023, 2024), 2024 National D2-3A MVP, and a 2025 "Great Eight" All-American Watch List nominee. He played a pivotal role in leading his team to national championships and top tournament finishes across all four years of high school.
When asked about his decision to attend Emmaus, Cox said:
"I chose Emmaus to continue my basketball career because it's a place where I will grow in my relationship with God and knowledge of Him. I know I will grow in maturity and build many friendships during my time at Emmaus that will last a lifetime."
Cox plans to major in Counseling Psychology, and he is equally excited about the opportunities off the court.
"I can't wait to play basketball and bond with this team. I'm looking forward to meeting a lot of new people and growing in my faith. I'm super excited to see what God has in store for me at Emmaus!"
Outside of athletics, Cox is an active member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, a worship band leader, a 4-H award-winning photographer, and a dedicated volunteer in his church and community. He's also served on two mission trips to the United Kingdom and contributed over 100 volunteer hours through Levy Restaurants at Texas A&M football games.
Emmaus is a fully-accredited four-year college offering more than 30 professional and ministry-related academic programs. Emmaus athletic teams compete in the NCCAA Division II and the Midwest Christian College Conference.
