Emmaus Season Set to Kickoff

The Emmaus Men's Soccer team will kick-off their 2021 season with an exhibition match at Eureka College on Friday, August 27, followed by their official season opener at Lincoln Christian University on Saturday, August 28.  These matches mark the relaunch of Emmaus Men's Soccer, which will see its first on-field competition since November 2019.

The 2021 Eagles will feature three holdover players from the 2019 roster: Stephen Sam, Sui Thang and Cullen Tuttle.  In particular, Thang and Tuttle will look to pass along to the program the character and success that they experienced as members of the 2018 MCCC Championship team.

Meanwhile, the core of the team will be making their debut in the Emmaus blue.  Zach Ort and Joe Rauch feature for the Eagles, as a sophomore and junior respectively, and will look to push an attack that aims to collectively fill the scoresheet this season.  The young Eagles will be anchored in net by goalkeeper, Jacob Schmelzer

Returning to the sidelines is an experienced coaching staff who are familiar with one another, along with the MCCC and North Region, but who will be working together for the first time.

Head Coach Chris McHugh, a former NCCAA National Coach of the Year recipient, heads into his first season leading the Eagles, and will be joined by Assistant Coach Cliff Conrad, who returns to the touchline after a 3-year hiatus from the program.

The 2021 coaching staff and players are optimistic for the season ahead and welcome your support at Fish Field all season long!

Watch the Eagles vs. Eureka College on Friday, August 27 @ 7pm on the Eureka YouTube Channel.

And then catch the Eagles live on Thursday, September 2 @ 3:30pm when Emmaus hosts the North Central University Rams at Fish Field.
