Regional & MCCC Recognition for Men’s Soccer
At the conclusion of the 2021 season, both the Midwest Christian College Conference and the NCCAA North Region announced their individual player awards.
The Emmaus Men's Soccer program is proud of their two team members who earned recognition:
1st Team – NCCAA North Region
2nd Team - Midwest Christian College Conference
Josh Matte recorded 5 goals on 20 shots and started all 9 games in which he appeared this season. Matte featured as an attacking right back and at center midfield for the Eagles, and was a key 2-way player for Emmaus.
Matte's ability to push forward on the dribble, while maintaining composure for the final pass, or a shot on target, propelled the Eagles' attack throughout the season.
Honorable Mention - Midwest Christian College Conference
Zach Ort tallied 1 goal and 1 assist, while starting all 14 games for the Eagles this season. The sophomore team captain from Newton, IA , most often started at center back for Emmaus, while also stepping into the midfield later in the season.
Ort's work rate and competitive spirit held opponents at bay, while also sparking the Eagles attack this year.
