Evann Kumar of Bellevue, NE has signed a letter of intent to continue his soccer career at Emmaus University. Kumar is the first signing of the men's soccer signing class of 2025.
Kumar, a midfielder and attacking player from Cornerstone Christian School and Gretna Elite Academy club in Omaha, brings a technical skillset and understanding of the game that will aid the Eagles' attack in 2025.
Kumar first contacted the Emmaus coaching staff in December 2022, leading to 2+ years of communication and ultimately a campus visit to Emmaus during his senior year. "After my visit and my prayer time, Jesus just made it clear that Emmaus was the place I was called to grow at and seek the Lord for the next few years of my life," shared Kumar.
"I'm super excited to play soccer at Emmaus. I've seen and been a part of teams with a culture and with leaders that don't necessarily point to Jesus, but at Emmaus it is the exact opposite. God has already made me confident and excited to play along my teammates at Emmaus and, win or lose, to work hard together for His glory!"
