Asuan Tomlinson Commits to Emmaus Soccer
The Emmaus University Men's Soccer program is excited to welcome Asuan Tomlinson, a 6'0" defender from Toronto, Ontario, as the latest addition to the 2025 recruiting class. A graduate of Brampton Centennial Secondary School, Tomlinson is the third commit for the 2025 season.
"We're excited to announce Asuan Tomlinson from Brampton, Ontario, in our 2025 incoming class!" shared head coach Chris McHugh. "Asuan is going to improve our defense with the combination of his size and speed paired with his technical skill and passing ability.
Asuan has a quiet confidence, and I've enjoyed getting to know him and his parents on their journey to Emmaus. We're looking forward to what the Lord has planned for Asuan and our team this year."
Tomlinson, who will study Business Management at Emmaus, chose the university for its balance of athletic, academic, and spiritual opportunities.
"I'm choosing Emmaus as it gives me the opportunity to continue playing soccer at a high level while also achieving academic success and continuing to better my relationship with God," said Tomlinson. "Emmaus gives me the chance to play soccer while praising God on and off the field."
"I'm looking forward to getting to start fresh in a new environment," he said. "Emmaus is far from where I currently live, so it's going to bring me out of my comfort zone, but it will give me opportunities to grow and help my team."
Off the field, Tomlinson is actively involved in his church community, serving in the media ministry and as a teacher for the summer Vacation Bible School program.
