Dubuque, IA -- Emmaus freshman Matthew Hanselman earned a spot as a 2024 NCCAA DII Men's Cross Country All-American with his 10th place finish in a 8k time of 28:39 at the NCCAA DII national meet. His finish helped the Emmaus men's team to a National Runner-up finish.
Hanselman's efforts in the national meet culminated an outstanding freshmen season, in which he also helped the Eagles secure a runner-up finish at the NCCAA Super Regional meet in October with another 10th place finish at the Dubuque Soccer Complex course.
"Matthew had a great day at our national meet setting a PR in the process. These past 2 weeks Matthew has really come around to learning how to race an 8k and it really came to light today," shared head coach Jeremiah Gerardy. "Matthew is super intentional in his training and has been a joy to coach. I am very excited for Matthew and proud of this accomplishment. It will be fun to see him build upon this in the years to come."
