Competing until the Very End

Ankeny, IA - After a tough defeat against Ozark Christian on Tuesday, the Lady Eagles took on 1st Team All American Allie Riegal and her Lady Warriors from Calvary Bible College. Earlier in the year, Calvary defeated Ozark by 7 points.  Considering our 40 point loss to Ozark just a few days prior, Calvary was already looking to be a tough game for our ladies. However, the Emmaus Eagles came to put up a fight.  With great teamwork and aggression, they played hard until the very end.  With only four minutes left in the game, Madison Laib made a 3-pointer, putting them within 8 points of Calvary. This sent a message to the conference that the Eagles can and will compete in the conference this year.

The final score, after free throws and substitutes, ended at 44-58 with Calvary earning the win. For our Lady Eagles, Madison Laib chipped in 15 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists; Grace Welch added 9 points and 8 rebounds; and Annie Schaeckenbach made 9 points and 6 rebounds.

Our girls will play Crossroads College this Tuesday, the 13th, in Rochester, Minnesota.
