Lady Eagles Create a Storm, Silencing the Manhattan Thunder

The Lady Eagles finished up their Missouri road trip with a match up against the Manhattan Christian College Thunder on Saturday, Januray 6. The Lady Eagles struggled to put ball in the basket in the first half. Whenever Emmaus tried to string a few baskets together, the Thunder would answer. The play of Shelby Hembera was instrumental in the Eagles' success on the court.

The Lady Eagles did not shoot well from behind the three point line and could never gain much momentum. At the start of the fourth quarter, the Lady Eagles were trailing the Thunder and slowly started to pull away. The Lady Eagles returned to a more focused effort to run their offensive sets, which led to multiple high percentage shots. Nakiah Kimble helped facilitate the offense and use her dribbling abilities to get to the basket and score.

The Lady Eagles were able to finish strong in the fourth quarter scoring over 26 points and winning 61 to 48. Overall, it was a very balanced team win for the Lady Eagles offensively, despite shooting poorly for the game. This win helps extend the Lady Eagles win streak to 10 games and will face off against Faith Baptist Bible College on Februrary 8.
