Lady Eagles Earn 2nd Place at MCCC Tournament

MOBERLY, MO - The Emmaus Lady Eagles Eagles went 2-1 last weekend in Moberly, MO to earn 2nd place at the 2022 MCCC Tournament.

Game #1 vs. CCCB

The Eagles jump started their tournament run with a wire to wire victory over the CCCB Saints.  Riley Harding finished with a double-double, and Kia Gelinas and Hannah Boyer were each 1 rebound shy of a double-double in propelling the Eagles to the semifinals of the tournament.

Game #2 vs. Calvary

On Friday, the Emmaus offense came out sluggish and it was a fourth quarter flurry that sealed the day 2 victory.  Anna Hardwood contributed 12 points of the bench and Madeline Wiest knocked down a pair of 3-pointers to push the Lady Eagles into the championship game.

Championship Game vs. Ozark Christian

Facing the NCCAA #3-ranked Ambassadors on Saturday, the Eagles opened up strong and matched the pace and scoring of Ozark, trailing 21-17 at the end of the 1st quarter.

However, Ozark utilized its speed and depth, and continued its full-court pressing tempo and 3-point making into the second half.  The Lady Eagles were full of fight, but ultimately fell to the Ambassadors by a final of 87-57.

With an 11-5 record during the second semester, the Eagles now head to the North Regional Tournament on the campus of Maranatha Baptist University in Watertown, WI as the tournament's #1-seed.

The Eagles will take on the winner of Maranatha Baptist University vs. Central Christian College of the Bible on Friday, Feb. 25 @ 3pm.
