
Pollard Fieldhouse — November 8-9, 2024 — The Emmaus women's basketball team endured a tough weekend, dropping two home games to Trinity Bible (N.D.) in back-to-back matchups. Despite strong individual performances, the team couldn't quite close the games, falling 67-59 on November 8 and 61-55 on November 9.
November 8, 2024 – Trinity Bible (N.D.) 67, Emmaus 59
Emmaus (0-1) came close to a comeback victory but ultimately fell short, losing 67-59 to Trinity Bible (1-0) in the home opener. After a slow start in the first quarter, the team found their footing, outscoring Trinity 23-14 in the third quarter to take a brief lead 52-40 after 3 quarters, but were overpowered in the final quarter. Erin McKenna led the charge for Emmaus with 21 points and 11 rebounds, while Madeline Wiest contributed 16 points, including five three-pointers. The Eagles had a 36.7% shooting effort and a solid 83.3% from the free-throw line.
November 9, 2024 – Trinity Bible (N.D.) 61, Emmaus 55
The following day, Emmaus (0-2) fought hard but came up short again, losing 61-55 in a defensive battle. The game remained close throughout, but Trinity outlasted Emmaus again in the final quarter. Erin McKenna once again led the team with 21 points, while Rachel Barrett added 17 points and grabbed a team-high 20 rebounds. Emmaus struggled with shooting, hitting just 30% from the field and 12.5% from beyond the arc, which hampered their ability to gain a sustained lead.
Despite the losses, Emmaus showed resilience, particularly in rebounding, where they outpaced Trinity Bible 39-27 on the second day. Erin McKenna had a double-double on Nov. 8 with 21 points and 11 rebounds and added 21 points, 5 rebounds on the 9th. Rachel Barrett: had a double-double in both games with 12 points and 15 rebounds in game 1, and 17 points and 20 rebounds in game 2. Madeline Wiest had 16 points including a stunning 5 three-pointers.
