Full Squad Effort Results in Emmaus Home Sweep

DUBUQUE, IA – The Lady Eagles ended another weekend on the winning side of the scoreboard, as they defeated Mount Mary University and Western Technical College by scores of 3-0.

On Friday evening against Mount Mary, Emmaus was able to remain efficient on attack while holding the Blue Angels to a negative hitting percentage.  The Lady Eagles made several strong offensive and serving runs, and pushed hard to control the flow of the match.

Saturday saw Emmaus pitted against the large front line of Western Tech.  The Lady Cavaliers brought some strong outside hitting, but the Lady Eagles were able to win the passing and out of system game, which led to a solid win that saw all twelve players on the Emmaus squad enter the match.

"I thought we played very confidently again this weekend," said Coach Pitman.  "We are striving to improve each time we are on the floor, and I thought we made the most of several opportunities.  Offensively we are working hard to find additional ways to score, and our defensive structure is making progress as well."

"All twelve players are essential to our success as a team, and recognition is due to our reserves today," continued Coach Pitman.  "Although their contribution is not always seen on the stat sheet, we are all pushing each other to improve in practice, and each player's investment is so important.  It was great to have everyone on the court this weekend!"

The Lady Eagles have saved perhaps the toughest part of the regular season for last, as the six remaining matches will be against high caliber opponents.  Emmaus will practice this week to gear up for road matches next weekend in Indiana against Calumet College of St. Joseph and Indiana University Northwest (NAIA), and Moody Bible Institute (NCCAA DII).
