Lady Eagles Tested on the Road

Lady Eagles Tested on the Road

WATERTOWN, WI – The Lady Eagles went 0-2 against NCCAA North Region opponents on their weekend road trip through Illinois and Wisconsin.

Friday night Emmaus re-matched with the hard hitting Lady Archers at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago.  The Lady Eagles were able to capitalize on Moody's errors and win the first set, but the Lady Archers came storming back to hand Emmaus a 1-3 loss.

Emmaus traveled to Watertown, WI on Saturday for their first meeting with Maranatha Baptist University this season.  The Sabercats, currently ranked #3 in the NCCAA, brought a barrage of offense against the Lady Eagles and cruised to a 0-3 victory.

Despite the scoreboard results, the team found several positive gains as they prepare to finish out the regular season.  "We played better than the scoreboard indicated this weekend," commented Coach Pitman.  "We are striving to improve every time we play, and I appreciate how are team is battling right now.  Whether it is injuries or new structures on the floor, our team has tackled the challenges that are set before us and we are sticking together through it all."

The Lady Eagles will have lots of opportunity for growth this week, as they will play two home and two away matches against some mighty opponents.  Emmaus will finish out regular season MCCC play against Faith Baptist on Tuesday (6:00 pm, Pollard Fieldhouse), and then will rematch with NJCAAA DIII opponent Western Tech on Thursday (6:30 pm, Pollard Fieldhouse).  The team will travel to Oakton Community College (NJCAA DII) and Calumet College of St. Joseph (NAIA) on Friday and Saturday.  Visit the Emmaus Volleyball Website or the Emmaus Athletics Facebook page for match times, live stream info, and updates.
