DUBUQUE, IA – The Lady Eagles won their last regular season conference match on their home court with a 3-0 victory over Faith Baptist Bible College.

Emmaus had a shaky start to the match, and set one had a lot of back and forth action.   With Faith holding the lead (17-20), Emmaus made two kills and a block to knot the score at 20.  The teams traded points to tie at 22, but a three point run by the Lady Eagles closed the set (25-22).

Set two saw the two teams battle to a tie at 11, but Emmaus was able to pull together serving runs and did not trail the rest of the set, resulting in a 25-16 victory.

Set three looked to be tight as well, but after a 6-6 tie Emmaus was again able to maintain possession and seal the match with a 25-18 win.

"We played well tonight, the team laid out some goals for themselves before the match and I believe we gave a good effort, especially in sets two and three," said Coach Pitman.  "Our conference is tough to compete in, and as we await seeding for the tournament we will keep working to improve our game – we are continuing to strive for excellence!  We intentionally laid out a very tough schedule to end the regular season, so we will have a lot of opportunity for growth in pressure situations over the next two weeks."

Emmaus continues their four match week against NJCAA DIII opponent Western Tech on Thursday at home (6:30 pm).  The Lady Eagles then head on the road Friday and Saturday as they take on Oakton (NJCAA DII) and Calumet (NAIA).  Visit the Emmaus Volleyball Website or the Emmaus Athletics Facebook page for match times, live stream info, and updates
