Emmaus Opens Home Play

DUBUQUE, IA - The Lady Eagles played their first home matches since 2019 this weekend. The atmosphere in the Pollard Fieldhouse was electric as the fans were excited to return to support their team.

After an exhibition match with Dayspring Bible College on Friday evening, Emmaus took on NCAA DIII opponent Finlandia University on Saturday afternoon. Although the Lady Eagles took a 0-3 loss, the team saw much improvement in their play and scores (19-25, 17-25, 20-25).

"We saw many flashes of great play again from the ladies this weekend," commented Coach Pitman. "We know we have a lot to work to do, but I appreciated the growth and learning that we accomplished against a strong opponent. A huge thank you to our fans for their support, it really means so much to our team! We are hopeful that we will be back to full health in the near future, and we look forward to continuing to grow together."

Emmaus returns to MCCC play this week, and will make the long trek to Joplin, MO to take on Ozark Christian College on Friday evening. On Saturday the team will be at Calvary University in Kansas City to face the Lady Warriors. Follow Emmaus Athletics on Twitter or Facebook for the latest updates and live stream information.
