Shorthanded Eagles Fall in MCCC Contests

KANSAS CITY, MO – The Lady Eagles returned from their three day trip to Missouri with two MCCC losses, falling to 0-4 in conference play and 1-7 overall.

Friday's match vs. Ozark Christian College found Emmaus scrambling to find any type of tempo, as the Lady Eagles were forced at a late hour to play with 8 players.  After learning a new rotation on the court before the match, Emmaus performed valiantly, but never threatened the Lady Ambassadors on the scoreboard (11-25, 10-25, 16-25).

On Saturday the Lady Eagles faced off with the Lady Warriors of Calvary, and had a marginally better showing in another new rotation (12-25, 13-25, 19-25).

"It was a hard weekend for our team.  I am very proud of how the ladies handled themselves, and we are thankful that we remained free from injury through all the changes that were required," commented Coach Pitman.  "Hopefully at some point this fall we will have our full roster available for a match, which we have yet to experience."

Next on the slate for the Lady Eagles is a tri-match this Saturday (9/25) at home.  Emmaus will take on Grace Christian (1:00 pm) and Ellsworth CC (5:00 pm).  Be sure to check the Emmaus Athletics website or social media accounts for scheduling updates and live stream information.
