Lady Eagles Fall in North Region Clashes

DUBUQUE, IA - Emmaus continued their home stand with matches against two tough regional opponents, fighting hard but ending up on the losing side in both contests.

In Friday night's matchup with the Lady Archers of Moody Bible Institute, the Lady Eagles were able to earn a win in the third set, but ultimately fell by a 1-3 score.

On Saturday Emmaus stayed close to the #10 ranked Sabercats from Maranatha for two sets, but the Sabercats flexed their serving and hitting game in the third to sweep the match.

"We are improving each time we play, and that is encouraging to see," said Coach Pitman.  "Statistically we are way ahead of where we were a few weeks ago.  We are still learning what it takes to perform under pressure and make key plays when they are needed, but overall we should be pleased and encouraged with our growth this weekend."

The Lady Eagles have another chance to compete at home this coming weekend, with two big MCCC matches slated.  Emmaus will take on Calvary University on Friday (6:00) and Ozark Christian on Saturday (2:00).
