Emmaus Volleyball Continues to Fight

DUBUQUE, IA – The Lady Eagles had the opportunity to celebrate their seniors on the weekend, but were unsuccessful on the scoreboard as they fell to Calvary University and Ozark Christian in two MCCC contests.

Emmaus struggled with their serve receive game, as well as with hitting accuracy.  The Lady Eagles showed some promise on Friday, taking set three against Calvary, but ultimately dropped the match with a 1-3 score.  The Lady Ambassadors swept Emmaus 0-3 in Saturday's match.

"First and foremost, we were very blessed to be able to celebrate our senior athletes this weekend," commented Coach Pitman.  "Cory, Lexi, and Verah have invested so much in our team throughout their time at Emmaus, and we are very grateful to them for all of their hard work, dedication, and leadership."

"As far as the results, we were deficient in many areas that we have been focusing on.  We know what needs to improve in order for us to be successful, so we are going to re-strategize this week as we have more opportunities for growth ahead."

The Lady Eagles have ended their home stand and have two tough matches this week – a conference bout on the road with Faith Baptist on Tuesday and a regional match at Maranatha Baptist on Friday.
