Lady Eagles Struggle in North Region Matchups

DUBUQUE, IA - Emmaus took on two North Region opponents this past week, but were unable to secure victory as they fell to Faith Baptist and Maranatha Baptist in straight sets.

In the match against the Eagles of Ankeny, Emmaus played with better pacing and structure than their past matches, but were outdone as their serve receive allowed multiple runs by Faith.

Taking on the nationally ranked Sabercats of Maranatha proved to be a hard task for the Lady Eagles, as they were unable to solve the offense barrage on the other side of the net. Though the team saw some improvement in the match, they once again came away empty handed.

"Tough losses this week for our team," commented Coach Pitman. "We definitely have identified what the deficiencies are, we are just struggling with the execution. However, we refuse to give up and are excited to have one more week of opportunity to prepare for post-season play."

The Lady Eagles are back in action tonight for a non-conference match at Ellsworth Community College. First serve is at 7:00 pm.
