Fernandes Joins Emmaus Volleyball

Fernandes Joins Emmaus Volleyball

Maya Fernandes of Dubuque, Iowa has signed a letter of intent to continue her volleyball career with the Emmaus Lady Eagles Volleyball program under head coach Hannah Richter. The Lady Eagles round out their 2022 recruiting class with the addition of Fernandes.

Maya will rejoin her high school teammate Lauren Fessler as the two come from a Tri-State team that won the NICC Conference Championship the past two seasons. The newcomers look to carry that experience to the Lady Eagles as they compete this season.

"When looking at Emmaus for my college education, one thing I noticed was the solid Christian education I would get while attending and their goal of glorifying God in all they do." Maya shared, "I look forward to experiencing college life, making long-lasting godly friendships, and growing deeper in my knowledge of the Word!"

Coach Richter added, "I can't say how excited I am to have Maya! Along with her love for Christ, she brings energy and maturity to our team. She is eager to grow in both her walk with God, and on the volleyball court. She will add so much life not only to our program, but also to our campus as a whole."

Please join us as we welcome Maya to the Emmaus Athletics family!
