The Emmaus Bible College Women's Volleyball team tipped off their 2023 season with a weekend series in Manhattan, Kansas, playing two matches that showcased the team's resilience and determination.
Friday, September 1, 2023 - vs. Manhattan Christian College Thunder (MCC Thunder)
The Eagles faced a tough challenge in their season opener against MCC Thunder, ultimately falling 3-1 in sets. Manhattan took charge in sets 1 and 3 with scores of 25-12 and 25-9, respectively. Despite the setback, Emmaus fought back and claimed set 2 with a score of 25-22. Selah Gregory led the Eagles' offensive with an impressive 10 kills, closely followed by Kaitlin Rahn with 9 kills. In the backcourt, Jennika Beach showcased her defensive prowess with an outstanding 24 digs.
Saturday, September 2, 2023 - vs. Barclay College Bears
The Eagles bounced back on Saturday, securing a convincing 3-0 victory against the Barclay College Bears. Emmaus dictated play in sets 1 and 2 with scores of 25-9 and 25-21, respectively. The Bears put up a fight in set 3, but the Eagles clinched the win with a score of 25-22. Kaitlin Rahn led the attack with 11 kills, while Jennika Beach continued her stellar defensive weekend with 21 digs.
Finishing the weekend with a 1-1 record, the Emmaus Bible College Women's Volleyball team displayed their adaptability and competitive spirit early in the season. The blend of seasoned players and emerging talent promises an exciting journey ahead for the Eagles in the 2023 season.
