Awards Season: Coach of the Year & More

Chicago, IL - November 6, 2023

At the conclusion of the NCCAA Midwest Regional Tournament and the Emmaus Eagles season, the NCCAA announced their regional award recipients, as voted on by the region head coaches. Following a turn-around campaign for Emmaus in 2023, the coaching staff and players were recognized and well represented on the awards stage for their performances. 

Second-year head coach, Hannah Richter, was named Midwest Region Coach of the Year. Her honor punctuates a 5-year journey with Emmaus Volleyball, as she transitioned from assistant to head coach in 2022. Richter and assistant coach, Megan Baily, have relaunched a program that will aim for further success on and off the court in 2024. 

On the players-side, four first-year players earned Midwest All-Region awards, while second-year Defensive Specialist, Lauren Fessler, earned Honorable Mention recognition.

Libero of the Year: Jennika Beach  

1st Team All-Region: 

Jennika Beach - Libero, (Humboldt, IA / Humboldt High)

Kaitlin Rahn - Outside Hitter (Genoa, IL / Genoa-Kingston High)

2nd Team All-Region: 

Selah Gregory - Middle Blocker (Bement, IL / Arthur Christian) 

Michelle Striley - Setter (Erie, IL / Unity Christian)

Honorable Mention All-Region: 

Lauren Fessler - Defensive Specialist (Hazel Green, WI / Tri-State Christian)
