Emmaus Soars Past Mount Mary in Straight Sets

Dubuque, IA -- In a commanding performance, the Emmaus Women's Volleyball Team defeated Mt. Mary University on Tuesday by a score of 25-14, 26-24, and 25-8.

From the opening serve, Emmaus established their presence in the match. The first set saw Emmaus execute their game plan flawlessly, taking an early lead and finishing strong with a score of 25-14. Their aggressive offense and solid defense left Mt. Mary playing catch-up.

The second set was more competitive, as Mt. Mary put up a determined fight, even leading 21-17 at one point. But the Eagles managed to comeback and edge out Mt. Mary with a narrow 26-24 victory. The set was marked by intense rallies and strategic plays, with Emmaus showcasing their ability to perform under pressure and secure crucial points.

Even though the second set was very competitive, Mt. Mary could not stay as close in the third set. Emmaus turned in a strong performance, overwhelming Mt. Mary with a commanding 25-8 finish. Their sharp serves, precise attacks, and robust defense were on full display, concluding the match with an emphatic win.

Up Next: The Eagles have a full slate this weekend, facing 3 opponents in 2 days. First, they play at Spurgeon College on Friday at 6:00 PM for their second meeting of the season. On Saturday, the Eagles will play Calvary University at 10:00 am and Bethany College at 12:00 pm, both hosted by Calvary University.
