February 13, 2025 - Dubuque, IA, - Georgia Howlett of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia has transferred to Emmaus University from Southeastern Community College to continue her academic and volleyball career beginning with the Spring 2025 semester. Howlett becomes the newest member of the Eagles, as she acclimates to her surrounding and new teammates this Spring, while looking ahead to the Fall 2025 season.
"Georgia is a wonderful addition to our team," shared head coach, Hannah Richter. "Coming to Emmaus was definitely an act of faith for her, but she is motivated to be here to study God's word and she fits right into our Christ-centered culture. She gets along with everyone so well, and it feels like she should have been here all along!"
In expressing her decision to transfer, Howlet shared, "I chose to be at Emmaus because of the amazing mission and culture of the school and of the team. Living and walking everyday alongside fellow believers, and diving deeper into God's word everyday with them is truly a once in a lifetime experience, and something that I never even thought to be a possibility, especially on the other side of the world!
"I am SO excited to play volleyball, because the girls and coaches are just the most awesome people and use their God-given gifts to serve Him and each other. Plus they're all super competitive and want to get out there and smash it!"
Please join us in welcoming Georgia Howlett to the Emmaus Athletics family!
