Lady Eagles Cross Country Signs Janzen

Lady Eagles Cross Country Signs Janzen

Kate Janzen of Jackson, Minnesota has signed a letter of intent to continue her cross country career at Emmaus under head coach Jeremiah Gerardy.

Janzen, a 5 year varsity letter winner, was named to the all-conference team as well as team MVP her senior year of high school. She will help set the tone for a young women's cross country team looking to build on their successful 2021 inaugural season.

When asked about her decision to choose Emmaus, Kate noted "I chose Emmaus because I wanted a college education with a Biblical emphasis and opportunities for personal connections. I was also drawn to their Servant Leadership Training program and cross country program." She continued, "Meeting new people and being part of a Christ-centered community are a couple things I am really excited about. I am also looking forward to the Bible classes and, of course, the cross country team and season."

Head Coach Jeremiah Gerardy shared  "Kate is an incredible young lady to whom we are very excited to bring into the Emmaus Bible College cross country family. She will bring a strong sense of leadership to the team and Emmaus community as a whole. I believe that Kate really has the potential to guide and impact the team's culture as we begin year 2 of the program. As a high school student out of Jackson Minnesota, Kate has already put in fast times that will make her competitive at the national level. More importantly, Kate is a real competitor which has been evident throughout her high school career as she has consistently shown great improvement from year to year. She also brings to Emmaus exceptional academic marks and an extensive involvement in her church community.  Kate will make an immediate impact on the team and I believe that given her skillset and desire for growth, she will thrive at Emmaus."

Please join us as we welcome Kate to the Emmaus Athletics family!
